With over 30 years in finance, Mr. Paez serves as Head of Origination at Great Elm Commercial Finance. Gerry has held senior positions at national financial institutions and turnaround crisis management firms, bringing a wealth of experience to the team.

Throughout his career, Gerry has managed over $1.5 billion in debt, equity, and sub-debt investments across various industries including Technology, Commercial & Industrial, Real Estate, and Healthcare. He was an initial advisor to an International Trade Fund that achieved $450 million in assets under management.

In his advisory roles, Gerry has worked closely with investors, founders, and senior management to develop monetization strategies, deal structures, liquidity options, strategic plans, and restructuring initiatives. His responsibilities have included raising equity, debt, and sub-debt capital, investment banking, and board membership.
