OUR APPROACH

Capital Structured Around Your Business Assets

Asset-based lending starts with what a business owns: receivables, inventory, equipment and real estate. Great Elm structures financing around those assets and the objective behind the request, so the capital fits the way the business operates.

Our underwriting considers the quality and liquidity of the collateral, the company’s operating history and the timing of the transaction. Those factors help determine which of the financing structures below may be appropriate.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR OPTIONS

Different Needs. Different Financing Structures.

How much capital a business needs, how it expects to repay it and which assets can support it all influence the structure of a financing. Suitability depends on the borrower, its collateral and the transaction, and no single structure fits every situation.

$5MM–$500MM

Typical Annual Borrower Revenue

Financing availability and eligibility depend on the individual transaction, eligible collateral, and underwriting requirements.

$5MM–$30MM

Typical Target Loan Size

A typical target, not a limit. Loan size depends on the individual transaction, eligible collateral, and underwriting requirements.

Revolving Working Capital

Financing tied to eligible receivables and ongoing borrowing requirements. Availability moves with eligible collateral, which can suit businesses whose working capital needs rise and fall with sales and customer payments.

Secured Term Financing

Defined borrowing backed by eligible business assets, such as inventory, equipment or real estate, for capital investment, liquidity needs or refinancing.

Coordinated & Supplemental Capital

Different approaches to coordinated debt or supplemental financing. A unitranche facility can combine borrowing needs into one arrangement, while junior capital can supplement a senior asset-based facility.
